Lindo Wing Photography FAQs
-
You can arrange your photoshoot either through The Lindo Wing or by contacting me directly.
Once I have your due date or scheduled C-section date, I will reserve time in my calendar around that period. I’ll check in with you the week before to see how everything is going.
When you’re in active labour, your partner or someone from your birth team can reach out to me. After your baby is born, we’ll schedule a time for me to come to your hospital room. I only use natural light and avoid flash so I typically photograph in the morning when the lighting is at its best.

I recommend feeding and changing your baby just before I arrive. This helps ensure your little one is relaxed, sleepy, and content, making for the best photos!
-
When I arrive for the session, I will open all the blinds, turn off the harsh lighting and tidy up the room a little bit. Just moving things out of the way that can distract from the images. I will clear a small space next to the window so that I can harness all the light.
I typically begin by capturing your baby alone in their bassinet before moving on to family and parent shots. Although the session is not heavily posed, I’ll guide you with simple prompts and natural positions to make sure we capture beautiful, authentic moments.
We allocate an hour for the session, but this time can be flexible, if the baby needs a break or feed, we can adjust the timing. I understand that this is a time for recovery for mother and baby and I make sure the sessions are relaxed as possible and everyone is comfortable.
After the session in the hospital room, we can make our way downstairs for photographs outside on the iconic steps of The Lindo Wing.

Family Portraiture FAQs
-
The timing of outdoor sessions depends on the weather.
On sunny days, I avoid the harsh midday sun, as it’s less flattering. The most beautiful light falls a few hours after sunrise or just before sunset, creating a warm, natural glow. On overcast days, we have more flexibility, as the soft, even light allows for great photos at any time of day.
-
I keep a close eye on the weather and allow flexibility to reschedule outdoor shoots if needed. If rain is forecast, we can discuss options and rearrange for a better day.
-
I’ll gently guide you toward the best light and framing, but there’s no need to pose or perform. My focus is on capturing authentic moments filled with genuine connection. I’ll step back, giving you the space to relax, be present with your family, and truly embrace the moment.

Clothing plays a big role in the overall look and feel of your photos. To ensure your images look their best, choose colours that complement each other and avoid anything too distracting, like large logos. Most importantly, wear outfits that make you feel comfortable and confident!
If you need any help choosing outfits, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to chat through your options!
